i have moved to france and need to fit lhd headlights to my 99 freelander

i have been running my 99 petrol soft back in 2wd for about 6 months and have not noticed any difference in fuel economy. interestingly it has been a bit heavy on the tyres but then i was running big off road things...just refitted standard tyres and new vc and it behaves far nicer on the road...

is it possible to change the lights on a 99 freelander from rhd to lhd without changing the complete unit
i saw some advertised on ebay for a later model as 'lhd with rhd conversion lever'
any ideas

i have had my car (1800 petrol) for some time now butit had a problem with the uj and cv mounts so i have run it in 2wd. i just bought the parts to replace the prop but am at a loss as to how i fit the nex uj
any help please

by now you might have realized that i an the kind of person who should have lessons to operate a can openner but instead i chose to buy a freelander so i am afraid that the stupid questions keep on comming
i have now reassemled every thing and it works

whith the wider bit at the front of the car or the back ?

ok so this makes me sound like a numtie but
on the long two part shaft (propshaft ?) that goes to the back axle is a large metal lump made of two or three parts. having just taken the whole thing off to replace some rubber and bearing mounts either side i can not remember which way it goes...

bit noisey on the road. unstoppable in mud

i can confirm this is usually the problem and would advise you change it as sson as possible.
mine failed competly while taking the kids sight seeing in london. we broke it out side buckingham palace. the vibrating prop damaged the exhaust and we had an armed gaurd including the helicopter...

found it. there is a small micro switch mounted on the drivers side roof support which was not quite activated by the roof stay. pushed it in and up comes the window.
i hope any other problems i get are as easy to fix. great forum by the way

possible good advice but i think just being able to clse the window might be more practical for now

just been outside with the manual to try and see whats wrong but no joy. should i be looking for something specific

thats what i thought but i cant seem to get it to work. getting despirate cos its raining HELP
