Hi, on mine I used the airbox from the Disco, and made up a couple brackets to mount it. The dipstick comes up just behind it, about half an inch clearance.

You've got it right. If the cambelt breaks the pistons and valves will go out of synchronisation which leads to lots of mashed parts.:D If your really lucky you'll get a few bent valves.

In my battle with the electrics over the years, I have added in several extra earthing connections to the wiring which have helped keep things running. I've simply linked a wire from, say, the headlight earth wiring up to a convenient bolt on the edge of the engine bay.

Thanks for the suggestions. Got me thinking.:) It was a nice sunny morning so I had another look at this. Turned out to be the live feed to the indicator. The wire had corroded right through a little way back from the connector, so despite cleaning the connectors there was still a bad current...

Yep, all earths are shiny clean and secure.
