    my td5 box is noisy in 5th and its showing signs of heavy towing, ie drive train slap. she as done 196thou :-) question is, can i just bolt a R380 300tdi gearbox to my transfer box, or is it not that simple? thing is, i only paid £1000 for the thing and dont fancy spending £500 on a gearbox...

    cheers pal, the repair has worked in the past but that was with a replacement pipe from a scraper, hope the copper can hold out. as for the PAS fluid (GULP) i didn't want to spray land rover cash all over my drive if it failed, so i opted for the cheaper stuff.

    hi all, just bought a TD5 so thought i would join a GOOD forum :D had a few 110's some years ago. 2.5 NA and a 2.5TD that i converted to a 200TDI, also had a few disco's, 2 and 300TDI's. quite handy with the spanners, duct tape and WD40. looking forward to fixing up my new project. paid £1000...
