    Headlights out

:D:D Funny thing is Bobsticle, that was exactly the problem, took off the rad grille and found two wires with very sorry looking bullet connectors (unconnected) hanging down. Removed bullets, cleaned up wires and crimped on two spades, and there was light! :D

    Accelerator cable

Yeah I think it could be , thing is, I don't need the hand throttle so I'm thinking of modifying it along the lines of the Glencoyne conversion, just got to figure out the best way :)

    Accelerator cable

Already tried that, linkages work fine without cable connected, won't work when connected. Going to have to set up some kind of rod assembly

    Accelerator cable

Hi again guys, so, got the clutch/gearbox/manifold problems sorted, and lo and behold another problem has raised it's ugly little head. Series 3 downpipe studs

Turns out they were the wrong studs, Britpart and too thin for the stud holes. Looks like I'll have to try the local factors or have some made up. This two day job is at almost three weeks now :D

    Clutch bearing?

Cheers guys, took it to a Land Ranger place today and he said the friction plate was okay for a while. Bought a new bearing and slave cylinder, £57 :( and took the old slave out today, very gunky and very easy to push piston down. I'll try your suggestions tomorrow and possibly go with a new...

    Series 3 downpipe studs

Had to remove the exhaust manifold from my 1978 S3 with a 200di engine. The manifold is from an S3 with the 3 studs connected to the downpipe. I've got the new manifold but it has no studs and the only ones I can find are these on ebay which say "Fits Land Rover Series 3 (1971 to 1974)" so would...

    Clutch bearing?

Okay, I finally got the gearbox off (after dismantling most of the cab) and to be honest I'm not totally sure what I'm looking at now. I'm no expert at this and would appreciate the advice of those in the know. I pulled the fork from the box and it seems to be a heavy duty one that looks ok, the...

    Clutch bearing?

Thanks Blackburn, turns out the manifold was from a series 3 not a disco, so I've bought the one pictured, this is the one which was clamped on with washers :) so I thought better the devil you know. So now this is going to be clamped onto a Disco 200DI block but which would be the best gasket...
