Hello... Anyone know if these part numbers (dual PAS/alternator pulleys for RRC) are interchangeable? I doubt it but the pictures of them look awfully similar. Cheers.

Well... it wouldn’t be the easy option, would it? o_O Testing with a multimeter between the oil px switch plug and earth, the voltage is showing anywhere between 8 and 10 volts (battery is fully charged). Using a test bulb in the same position results in negative lighting of said bulb! So...

Thanks Ratae, good gen once again! I tested the little bulb and it does work, wasn’t just a visual check. I’ll get on with the rest of it after I’m off shift tomorrow.

I think it’s a red herring anyway. After looking at it it’s just some kind of plug extension to the fuel pump power wires. I’m really confused to be honest mate. Every spark plug is firing strongly. The plugs looked wet and smelled of petrol after being cranked for a wee while. Battery...

Anyone got any idea what this is? It’s in-line with the fuel pump power lines. Connections seem slightly dodgy.

I was using a multimeter to check the voltages. Have now plugged in a test light into the fuel plug connector as you suggested and getting similar results - it’s lighting up bright on cranking but not on with the ignition on and flapper held open. I’ll check battery voltage later, it is fairly...

Update on this - the pump works if connected to a 12V source but is not running with the ignition on and the flapper held open. There is 9V at the fuse and at the fuel pump plug connector when the engine is turned over which I’m guessing is battery voltage under starting load. It would appear...

While I’m here, sorry for the bonehead question but where is the fuel pump fuse located? I was looking last night and all I could find in the fuse box in the dash was one fuse with a fuel symbol on it, is that it?

Thanks to all for the suggestions. After two or three days disassembling every light fitting, unwrapping the loom in any obvious rubbing points, wiggling wires with multimeters attached, I couldn’t find a sodding thing. Since everything was apart anyway I just rewired the RHS side/tail lights...

Thanks for the explanation lynall and boguing. Makes more sense to me now! Rooting around at the back it looked like the loom was rubbing up against the fuel tank next to where it enters the chassis rail, had a good look at that this evening and it all seems in prefect nick with no chafing...
