    300tdi compound turbo

Hello everyone, i'm currently running a 2052v turbo from audi a6 2.5 v6 tdi, and i must say it is a massive improvement over the original 300tdi turbo, however i have been toying with the idea for a compound turbo setup since. Not to make whopping power, but a system a bit more efficient than...

    I don't believe N/A's were fitted to 1996 vehicles....

    Defender electrics question

If it is a fuse, i'd check the roof light to find out why the fuse went. It could be a short circuit maybe?

    300 tdi broken glow plug

I certainly would not be prepared to run it that long without seeing to it :D

    temperature question

Yeah, that would be a good place to start, i don't really know what else it could be!

    300 tdi broken glow plug

If you look at the new plug, there is the end part which is skinny, and it gets thicker. The head is cast the same way. Therefor, it is not physically possible for that part of the plug to fall in to the bore.

    300 tdi broken glow plug

The tip of the glow plug cannot fall inside the bore looking at where it sheared off. If this were possible, it would have fallen in the bore a while ago looking at the state of it.

    300 tdi broken glow plug

Right, well there are a few ways to get the remaining bit out. First try a magnet, and to be honest what i would be tempted to do is disconnect the injection pump and crank it over a few times to force the bit out using the compression of the engine...

    300 tdi broken glow plug

This is a mucking fess. Let's start over again. You removed the inner core, then the outer casing, and now there's still a bit left in the head. Correct?

    300 tdi broken glow plug

All i know is, it's impossible for the end of the glow plug to fall in the pot, due to the shape of the opening the other side of the head. Strange how the end seems to be missing, though i reckon we are not looking at 2 same glow plugs there...

    300 tdi broken glow plug

There would be absolutely no issues running the engine with a glow plug in that condition, it's just the core that has come out. Happened to my dad's disco a while ago. If you have not got a replacement glow plug, disconnect it and isolate the end to avoid short circuit against block, as for...

    temperature question

Sounds to me like it's just the thermostat has been removed or is siezed open, though my guess would be it's been removed, seeing as it was in the middle east.
