I've been doing just that, mine is the TDV6, yes it appears it's going to be a costly repair and probably not worth it, as a replacement engine may suffer the same fate...

We were driving down the M5 towing a caravan going to Cornwall for a weeks holiday, when all of a sudden, a bang from the front and something falling under the car, engine dies doing 55-60mph rear wheels lockup, I quickly put in neutral and coasted to the hard shoulder. Got it home eventually...

Drove it to work and home again ...........just spent 1800 quid getting it through MOT. 2 new front tyres, lower arm bushes all round and one ball joint needed replacing. A few advisories to start on after Christmas, although I sorted one at the weekend........... new wipers lol

My Disco 4 has seats 6 and 7 installed including seat belts which are in the side panel. So I take it they should be able to.

I've just bought the icarsoft LR diagnostic tool if anyone needs a reset, only bought it to sort my maf sensor problem on my D4, not used it for anything else.... Yet!!!

also make sure the prop shaft`s are there with the VCU as i found to my cost not knowing much about Freelanders......
