The old lady went to a new home today - 1/3/25.

Looking for about £7500 or thereabouts. The wheel bearing advisory has been done but the seat box could be repaired with just the passenger underseat tool box needed. About £45 plus a few rivets :) .

Thanks Gun. The company I bought the new box from have been very helpful. They think the overdrive is so old its messed up second gear - it jumps out in second under engine braking. I'm taking it back to them so they can have a look at it and possible rebuild. We'll see! Cheers Tim

I am about to fit a reconditioned gearbox and transfer box to my Series 3 but I am told that I cannot just slot the overdrive into the new unit and something has to be done before it can be fitted (not just a gasket). Can anyone enlighten me as to what this is please?

I have had the bulk head door pillars on my series 3 replaced. They were rustproofed with Waxoyl when done and need a repeat. I would like to know if I did it with Dinitrol would it react with the Waxoyl or not? It's just that I have Dinitrol to hand and would have to buy some Waxoyl specially.

Many thanks that's helpful and sounds like my problem. Unfortunately I'm hopeless with electrics if it's not basic. A new wiring loom is beyond me which is why I need an electrician. The picture taking is a good point.
