    Rustproofing

I have had the bulk head door pillars on my series 3 replaced. They were rustproofed with Waxoyl when done and need a repeat. I would like to know if I did it with Dinitrol would it react with the Waxoyl or not? It's just that I have Dinitrol to hand and would have to buy some Waxoyl specially.

    New Loom

Thanks a lot guys. A lot of useful information. At least I can removed the binacle and have a look. I've done it many times replacing the flasher relay. Problem was when I bought her the pervious owner fitted a lot of "extras" like radio, spot lights etc. There are a lot of inline fuses in some...

    New Loom

Many thanks that's helpful and sounds like my problem. Unfortunately I'm hopeless with electrics if it's not basic. A new wiring loom is beyond me which is why I need an electrician. The picture taking is a good point.

    New Loom

Continual electrical problems on my 1977 Series 3. Sometimes the horn works or it doesn't, sometimes it blows the flasher relay or doesn't, sometimes headlights work on main beam or not, indicators may work if they feel like it! I think I should be looking at a new loom but probably what I...

    Series 3 Fan Housing Wanted

I have just replaced the heater motor and fan on my 1977 Series 3. The housing is badly rotted and I am trying to source a replacement. I am not a good enough welder to repair it and I don't think there is that much good metal to weld to. :( Anyone got one for sale please? Cheers Tim

Brilliant. I just bought a couple of fine artists brushes for £2.50 so all systems go now. Many thanks Wireman.

Thanks Wireman I thought it might be but I've seen them green with yellow letters etc. Nice to have it confirmed. Cheers,

    Rear Makers plate - |Series 3

The rear makers plate on my S3 has no paint on it. It had none when I bought it so cannot refer to any old colours and I am going to repaint it. I think it should be all black but with what colour lettering and "lightning" line and the raised oval surround? Any help appreciated.

    Seat Change - Help please

Hi Rob. Just ordered the bolts from Blanchards. Couldn't get them from DLS or Paddocks (Paddocks have shut down totally!) At least now I have the time to change the seats. Cheers Tim

    Seat Change - Help please

Thanks everyone I now have what I needed. I just didn’t want to cut up a new seat for no purpose. Always sound advice on this forum. Just remember if you get and email where the subject is “Knock Knock” , don’t open it, it’s from a Jehovah’s Witness working from home. Thanks everyone.

    Seat Change - Help please

Outer set driver's side. There is no bolt. Just the pin with a cotter pin hole. I can feel a "hole" through the new back so there looks to be a bolt to fit - part number 331709 - but any ideas what size? Many thanks.

    Seat Change - Help please

Just bought some "deluxe" seats for my S3. Base slid straight in but how to replace the back rest? I cannot get the pins out of the old seat (the ones which act as a hinge). I thought they screwed in/out but despite using everything but stilsons they won't budge. Rusted in? The new back has no...

    Paint Preparation?

Thanks Graham. Working on the bonnet at the moment, just put UPOL on the underside, etch primer next on the top side then paint. The back door is not so urgent but should be done by the end of the month before a camping & off road trip in Wiltshire and Dorset in May. Youir comments are much...
