I put the flash little one from Muddy Mods or something like that on mine.
Very nice it is too although cost more as I remember but that was years ago. When I used to spend money on it.

Another Hippo 🦛 on the way to wherever Hippos go when they leave this earthly realm

I work at a scrapyard so we do get a fair share of end of life vehicles but this was the first 3 door Hippo since I’ve been there.
Been waiting for one for ages, kept thinking I had to buy a couple of tyres then got lucky.
Still got the sports rims in the garage, in case I come across some...

I posted on 16/03/25 smugly about replacing my starter motor. What a fool….
Three days later the new one stopped working altogether. So after much cursing, blood sweat and tears put the old one back in. Started first time and continues to work fine. The firm who supplied the new rubbish one...

Yep prop shaft off. I put a blanking plate on the IRD too but don’t know if you actually have to, just whip it off and all of the 4 wheel drive problems disappear.
Like I nearly did when I span mine at a wet roundabout cos I forgot I didn’t have 4 wheel drive 😆

Today I have replaced the starter motor on my 2006 TD4. Not had to do anything to mine for ages so started with some trepidation however actually went well. Watched a YouTube vid and the guy removed the air intake hoses but when I looked at it I couldn’t see what difference that would make so...

Same problem with mine, luckily the bolt came out with the riv nut so managed to get them off.

I am by no means a metal fabricator but by using the frame of the rubbish plastic supplied undertray it wasn’t hard. I used riv bolts and a couple of pieces of angle iron and it works great, just have to undo the bolts to take off the tray leaving the frame in place for oil changes etc.

I was contemplating replacing the drivers door on my 3 door as it’s dinged

I used 4mm check plate for mine I think and although it’s not gnna be as strong as steel it was easy to work with and has done a great job.
And I work in a scrap yard and Alibro is right there is always a variety of stuff you could use turning up you could pay a few quid for.

I thought there would be something dodgy about it. Although a boost in power is tempting i would much rather Roary keeps on chugging along quite merrily like he is at the moment. Probably gnna need to change the plug that clicks onto the HP sensor soon, got it ‘temporarily’ fixed with a zip tie...

I am having trouble with the high pressure fuel rail electrical contact and will have to replace it at some point. I have temporarily fixed it for now. I work in a scrapyard so was waiting for a TD4 to come in so I can recycle some parts.
A 3 series BMW was in today so I had a look at the...
