Hi all, I have, what I hope is a little fault, with the EAS compressor. ('99 P38 DSE) Last week I had the 4 airbags replaced. After doing so it took a long time for the suspension to raise but when it did all was good with the world and off I went. Half an hour on the motorway, the EAS failure...

I just want to finish up this thread by saying that at long last I think I have this sorted.. At the moment its been perfect for about three weeks and I'm delighted. We removed the ECU from its housing, cleaned and re-crimped all the terminals and replaced it. Simple as that. Thanks everyone...

So I checked all the connections and then the voltages... 13.9 - 14.0 at both battery terminals and the back of the alternator.. From the information given here ( and thanks everyone ) that would appear to be too low and so the fault is now pointing directly at the alternator.. So I'll order one...

yeah, it is actually 'knockie' on tickover, was a bit worried at first until i figured it was a diesel problem... I fear you could be right on the pump front and i have it booked in with a pump man tomorrow afternoon... will post the results... thanks tor that...
