all thanks for your feedback it has been brilliant.
So in the end the sedimentor is the problem. So it looks your philosophy was bang on.
I have by-passed it at the moment and all runs fine
Do I need to get a new sedimentor or is it safe to leave it out the loop?
or is there an...

So air coming through from the lift pump. It is new so I presume something else. There is no obvious place on the fuel line from the tank.
Just tried to take apart sedimenter to ensure it is sealing properly but he bolt on top is rounded off -Arrgh !
Weird thing is it ran fine for about 5 days...

Thanks for the advice. I will try that.
Thanks again for replying

Well that sorted the problem. So you can get 8mm olives from B&Q.
Only problem is that after five days it is again stalling at high revs. So air must be getting in again.?
It will idle fine so I presume it is a minor air leak that only draws air under high revs. I have made sure all...

Not ****ing fuel but there is a very slight leak. Once I got pump working the engine now ticks over for a while but when you accelerate hard it konks out. So def air getting in. This seems the most obvious and i presume at high revs even a small gap will suck in enough air to stall it...

Good news is the pump is working . The lines were the right way around. I took it off and re fitted it.
I think I have tracked it down to one of the joints on the new lift pump. I must confess i misplaced the olive and so tried to use the one of the old pump. I do not think it is sealing...

It's run for about a minute 30 and no change.
Yes the filter is full of fuel, or was when i put it on.
I took it off after I had fitted the new lift pump when it was started it just died again. I took the filter off and it was 1/3 full. Thoughts ?

Done this and nothing comes out. No noticeable pressure and certainly no fuel...

Sorry to be dumb but will this get the air out or will it show me something?

BTW . There is a difference to now in that it seems to rev much higher a first before losin power and then stalling.

So . I have fitted the new pump and it is still not drawing any fuel into the filter when I pump.
Could I have fitted it wrong? Arrgh!
Any suggestions?

Thanks for all your suggestions. Picking up lift pump in a couple of hours and will let you know how it goes.
Cleaned out the sedimenter and all lines are clear so I am hoping the pump is the problem.
Sorry to ask a dumb question but how do you manually turn the engine?
