The water was coming up under the cubby box, then sploshing across into the compartments under both seats. I could see this when I took the box and the matting out.

I removed the cubby box and had a look underneath and there were a couple of holes, plus the removable panel wasn't sat very flush, so I sealed the lot with silicone. Not sure how often that panel needs to be removed, but the silicone will be easy enough to remove if need be. At least it should...

I think they must be underneath, not managed to locate them yet.

Finally found out that the problems I've been having with the engine warning light coming on and losing all power are due to water coming up through the holes where the cubby box is fitted and down into the compartment under the driver's seat. So, aside from keeping the water out of there and...

Not as far as I know, all the reading said was "Electrical fault - check the wiring", but I need to get this latest one checked as it could be a different problem even if the symptoms are the same.

Thanks for the replies. The pedal was replaced by the first lot who took a look. Forgot to say that the electrical warning light also comes on when it happens. The vehicle is kept in a garage most of the time and it is very damp in there (leaky roof). Not sure if this would affect...

This problem first came my way in December 2011, when I drove through a large puddle and a couple of minutes later, lost all power on the accelerator. Took to first Land Rover "specialist" and they didn't have a clue as it's a TD5 and they don't like to fiddle with electrics! Problem...

Thanks. What about size? The MTs are 265/75 R16 - the nearest I've found for the all terrains is 265/75 R16 120S. Would that be OK?

I bought a Defender 90 TD5 back in June and it has BF Goodrich Mud Terrain tyres fitted (265/75 R16 LT). They are wearing a little thin and I've been told that I should switch them to something else before winter sets in as the mud tyres are (apparently) worse on packed snow/ice than normal car...
