TD5 race studs - torque spec?

That's interesting sounds like they need more torque get get some stretch in them. If the studs are too stiff you can getbussues with understanding after warming up and cooling down. I hope you have more luck with the normal studs this time round. Pete

    Pete's Discovery 2

I fitted my winch and winch bumper today. I still need to trim a little more of the grill and move the bumper up a 1/2 inch or so. I've got most of the wiring done, using an albright contactor in place of the warn solinoid pack. I still need to mount the winch romote socket in the grill and wire...

    Pete's Discovery 2

Cheers. No spacers but the wheels have some additional offset over standard, I carnt remember how much. Imthey where the minimum offset modular steel wheels from Paddocks. They keep the tyres just within the arches, so not too wide.

    Pete's Discovery 2

The first change was to fit some steelys and BFGoodrich AT T-A in 285 75 r16. They where a little bit of a tight fit and needed some trimming of the will guards and front bumper part of the inner arch. There filling the arches a bit to much at the moment.

    Pete's Discovery 2

I thought it may be useful to log some of the modifications I've been doing to my Disco 2. Hopefully it will be of some use or interest to someone. This is how she was when I first got her. Only one owner from new other than me, and serviced at a landrover main dealer til the book was full.

TD5 race studs - torque spec?

The axial force in the studs/bolts is driven by the torque applied, and the coefficient of friction between the rotated parts (bolt or nut head and threads). The strength of the stud or bolt material will not increase the clamping force directly, but will allow a greater preload to be applied to...

Wiring up new winch on D2

I have already got the Albright. Cheapest I could find was from RedWinch. Did you fit the warn solenoid pack behind the slam panel, it seems a bit big? Thanks for the link.

Wiring up new winch on D2

Im about to wire up a warn m8000 into my D2. Im planning to use an albright solenoid pack in place of the warn unit. I'm hoping to fit the solinoid pack/contactor and an isolator solenoid in the space where the jack should be. If anyone has experience of doing this, please let me know any...

    Disco 2 new man

Hello all, Not long bought a disco 2. In the process of giving it a deep service and a run about. The ACE is giving me a bit of bother. Hoping the lights will stop popping up after I change the filter and possibly the pressure transducer. Pete
