New information.
For the first time ever i lifted the hood. The area above the dipstick has been smeared with oil. Other parts of the engine are clean. What could cause the crankcase pressure to force oil to come out of the dipstick? And, could this cause the electrics to be disabled...

Before taking my car to a dealer and throwing cash at the problem i thought i would ask forum members for their diagnosis. Who knows i may try to get fix the problem myself.
