Hi all
I have a used 200TDI gearbox crossmember. It is a galvanised Richards piece. Was used on my 200TDI until I changed chassis. Used so a bit dirty and oily but no significant corrosion or dents.
For collection from Ringmer in East Sussex
£40

Hi all
While I am having a clear out I would like to sell this 200TDI crossmember with legs. I bought it years ago to fit to my 200TDI but eventually fitted a new Marsland chassis. Comes with free (used) towbar.
To be collected from Ringmer in East Sussex
£110

Hi all
I have a brand new PCT towbar bought in error for my Defender. I replaced original 200TDI 90 chassis with Marsland but it needed a 110 towbar...
I think PCT is what used to be Dixon Bate? It is very heavy duty, much heavier than original 200TDI towbar.
Brand new, only trial fitted (until...

Hi all
A quick update.
I have bought a sender and cable. I made up a bracket to carry sender, it mounts on two of the bolts on back of transfer box where a PTO or overdrive would go. It is a Hall effect sender so I added a couple of 'buttons' to the rim of the handbrake drum to trigger said...

Hi Knappster
Sorry no pictures. It doesn't look much different to how it was when I bought it years ago - just a well used old Defender with not a straight panel to it's name... It isn't a wreck, more like an old farm Landie. No bling, some mud, plenty dents.!

Hi all
I have bought an oil pressure gauge for my 1991 200TDI. It already has a tapping on the oil filter head for an oil light switch so I need an adapter in order to retain switch and also add oil pressure gauge sender. Does anyone know what thread it is? Demon Tweaks can't help.
Thanks in...

Hi all
The Defender has been back on the road for ages now so I thought I would finish off this thread.
The first replacement chassis was a Richards, supplied by a local independent through Britpart.
When the issue around accuracy of fabrication arose they offered to take the (now rolling)...

No luck with a sender so far...
Have tried tacho manufacturers but it is too old for them.
Have tried LR parts dealers but no go.
Have tried a couple of breakers but no go.
Plenty of defenders must have/have had had tacho's in the past surely?
Any thoughts? Maybe I could convert current box to...

I used an Ashcroft kit some years ago to rebuild the transfer box in my 200TDI. I found the quality to be excellent and when I had a query I got friendly, professional advice.
Present main gearbox (LT77) needs an output shaft (worn splines), I'll go to Ashcroft again for peace of mind.

Hi
I'm fitting a used tacho that doesn't use GPS (a bit modern for me). I just want the widget that fits on the speedo drive and makes an electrical pulse.

I thought I would finish off this thread as I left it hanging.
I fitted the Chinese ali radiator but didn't connect the oil cooler pipes as the holes in the fittings on the radiator were absolutely tiny, far too small in my largely uninformed opinion to flow enough oil. I also had concerns...

Hi all
I need to fit a tachograph (drivers hours not engine RPM) to my 200 TDI.
Does anyone have a part number and/or source for the sender which fits the speedo drive on the LT230 transfer box?
Thanks in advance

I shall write to council tomorrow, I was too angry today to put together anything civilised.
I have no idea how their decision making happens but presumably someone has signed this off, and presumably that person has to defend their position?
I might write to local councillor and/or MP. IN 2018...

Image of notice. Picture taken evening of 15 May '23.
It says six months closure or "until conditions improve", which I suspect they won't. I am on a farm and I can categorically state that 'conditions' are just fine. The Old Coach Road (OCR) is surfaced with crushed stone and/or rubble. The...
