Not much help but I rebuilt mine around 3 years ago, and went with the Ashcroft chain, there were some cheaper options on the bay, and maybe rimmers? at that time, but although rebuilding the box is easy I wanted peace of mind it would last so decided it was worth the cost of the Ashcroft...

I know what you mean, the P38 must have been a mistake, just about the only LR product that rarely is ever has rust issues :D

The other thing I've seen is several cheapo replacement 2.5 rads that don't cool properly (no baffle inside?) but yep maybe he was just working it harder. The relative unknown of the L322 for me compared to the P38 that I know inside out, and the fact I have loads of P38 spares on the shelf...

Thanks Datatek, is the NZ guy on here? Never had any overheating problems with mine when towing (recovery trailer with other P38's on) I'm running the standard viscous fan without a shroud as it broke, and the original 2.5 rad, and temp never moves, its been over to Italy a couple of times...

Thanks for the info, no road speed on diagnostics (INPA), so unless there is some way to convert the signal from the P38 (beyond me) its a none starter, no cruise hadn't really bothered me too much until I started doing longer trips abroad (Sister moved over to France) other than I'm a bit weird...

Hi, thanks for the reply. On the diesels (not sure about the V8's as they have a more basic system using cables and vacuum actuators) the cruise is controlled directly by the engine ECU, this is the same for both the 2.5 and for the M57. The problem is the ECU (DDE) needs a road speed input...
