I am having some trouble with my v8i - it starts beautifully when it is cold, but after the engine warms up it starts to idle rough, and if I stop the engine then restart it while it still hot it will start OK but then the revs will drop right off, and sometimes it will conk out. A few weeks...

The gasket I had was sheet metal, no foam, no composite sections. And I used no sealant. I followed the torquing stages suggested, but didn't know the thread lock trick.

When you replace the inlet manifold gasket on a Discovery 3.9 v8i, should you use any form of sealant between the gasket and the heads or inlet manifold? The old one did not seem to have anything on it, and the workshop manuals and Haynes make no mention of it, but I am beginning to wonder...

Spent 3 hours pressure washing the State Forest out from under my Disco, inspected the newly shaped front diff (oops) and the other collateral damage...then wrote a list of things to fix before I go out again.

This'll be an easy one for you experienced Disco gurus... Disco 1 '95 - I just replaced the headlight washer valve (T piece) under the bumper. When I tried to test them no water at the jets, and it looks like the headlight washer pump does not run. Before I get too excited pulling stuff...
