My 600x16 avon traction mileage tyres have cracks on them, and there only 7 years old which is a shame.. anyway both our tyres are cross-plys which have inner tubes, which won't blow out.. personaly in my opinion they are fine.

In the mini scene years ago alot of people use spacers, in fact the rear drums have 1 inch spacers built into them when the 12inch wheels were fitted from 86 on.. they might put more pressure on the bearings but they still last a fair old time! The thing these days is to put the big 13inch...

i see your in basildon there is a guy in progress road industrial estate, just off the a127 going into southend. he does all land rovers, i beleive his company is called dls landrover. try him, he's quite good.

i think mini's use the same one. mine has anyway..

i'd get a grinder or a nice file out, and file down the sides of the plug so you can get the next size spanner on it. then with a bit of heat you may be lucky.

haven't tried them yet, but try kingpin remould tyres. on the 4x4 section you want the KTM crossplys 600x16. http://www.kingpin-tyres.com/english.htm don't get radials, in my opinion they look terribly out of place. i have avon traction mileage on mine, but they are not available anymore...

step 7: silicone spray seats to make then nice and slippery

i'd nail it for a bit before you get to the test centre. it does help with lowering emissions.
