Retired sailor and pig farmer. Hobbies shooting and fishing. I am now on my fourteenth Land Rover, starting with a S1 in 1969 and owning S11, S111 and Defender at various times, as well as two Range Rover Classics, before they were called Classic, (is there a better driving position in the world of motoring?) and, six Discoverys.
I now have a 2001 P38 HSE 4.0 V8 which is, without question, the best vehicle I have ever owned, or even ridden in. I do hope parts and repair skills will last well into the future.
Recently acquired a 1984 ex-military 109 canvas top in super condition and with full working convoy lights. Has an excellent, though smokey, diesel engine fitted but I would really like to return it to the original petrol.
I am to mechanics what Fred Flintstone is to computers, so please be patient with me!
