    Do I really need to take the gearbox out to do the clutch release bearing?

    No just undo the gearbox, prop, mounts etc then shuffle gearbox back on trolley jack then change clutch and bearing no need to remove seat base.

    Series 3 Petrol - judder when hot ( replaced all ignition, clutch and gbox refurb)

    Could be fuel starvation . Fuel evaporating when engine warm causing it to judder.
