eightinavee is correct with his last comment, the tdi head is flat, it dosent matter how much you skim it , its the protrusion of the pistons above the block line that determins the thickness of a gasket, but id put a three hole one on, (thikest).

hi mate stanlyman is spot on there with his comment , the 300 tdi lift pump needs to be on cam, be fore you can prime the diesel, just give the ignition key a flic to turn the engine a bit at a time before you buy a new pump, hope this helps, oilburner
