Hi, about to do a clutch change, while the box / flywheel etc is off, is it possible to change the crankshaft rear oil seal with the lump still in ?

OK, so i am driving down a slip road onto the Motorway, when i cross the cats eyes the front end starts shaking very violently, i am thinking christ a wheel is coming off, so start braking onto the hard shoulder, down to about 10 mph and it stops, so i speed up again and onto the motorway and...

OK, have read this several times over several weeks, not sure if the tweeks will cure my problem, which is that when opening the old girl up she throws out some black smoke, but then back off pedal and cruise she stops, so will just the smoke screw backed off a touch under the cap stop this ...
