Hi - had the same issue and did the same thing. rusted out ball bearing, a seized motor and possibly seized plungers that the bearing would have operated. Turns out the mystery bearing is - get this - identical dimensions to a skateboard wheel bearing 8x22x7 Hope this helps someone else.
