Thats great. It's much cheaper to buy the boxed plain sheets of silent coat and they are easy to cut and install.

I did the camping mats on the roof under the headlining. Having covered the floor plan with silent coat (which cost about 160 for the full vehicle), I then bought some black 5mm vinyl chequer plate and covered the floor from behind the front seats through to the rear door with it. I also stuck...

Thanks - that looks good. I have put 7mm camping mats up under my headlining.

yes that has happened to me too. I think I couldn't hear them before but gradually I have eliminated all but one - a whistle from the driver's side vent when driving above 50 mph. That's still on my to do list along with a bunch of non-noise related jobs!

I posted quite a bit on this in recent months: https://www.landyzone.co.uk/land-rover/sound-proofing.320310/
It is possible to make a big difference to the noise levels without risking a major water trap and associated corrosion problems.

So I've clocked up over 1000 miles since I did my noise reduction work and it is so much quieter. Anything up to 70mph is comfortable from a noise perspective and I can now hear the radio without blasting my ear drums. Before I had to turn it off after about an hour because it had to be on so...

an excellent question. I don't know enough to be sure.

I spotted this in Enniskillen Castle. I think it is the Royal Inniskilling Fusiliers on parade in the 50s or 60s for the Queen's birthday or some such like.

This is almost as far west as you can go in the UK - just inside the border of Co Fermanagh in Northern Ireland from Co Cavan in the Republic of Ireland. I popped over the border in search of cheap diesel but it was even more expensive there!

I was chatting to a mate about how I didn't understand why the bonnet seal gutter channels water INTO the engine bay and ONTO the bulkhead. He suggested I do something about it and so I did. Two small bits of rubber glued onto the ends now channel most of the water down the outside of the...

Almost a month later and its been a mixed experience to say the least! After all the work above I was hoping that the major water leak into the internal gutters would be sorted but it wasn't. There is some water coming in via the windscreen seal and that is due to be fixed next week. However...

That seals it (pun intended) - it's a new seal and I'll get it fitted by someone else!

Is it really that easy to replace the windscreen seal? I read elsewhere that it is a nightmare to do and so was going to get someone else to do it. Mind you I also read that the alpine seals were a nightmare and I managed those just fine.

Thanks Turboman. I have done all of that except replace the front windscreen seal. I'm convinced that's where the water is coming in. Captain Tolleys has mostly filled the cracks and so three is less water coming in now. Hope to change the seal in a few weeks time- well actually hope to get...

Thanks Allan. I have previously done most of what you suggest but I now think I have found the leaks! With the roof lining out I have now seen the water appearing over the A post and creeping into the internal gutters. I'm pretty sure that it is coming in via the windscreen seal. It's in...
