Hi Alibro, yes inertia switch is was checked and ruled out. No I haven’t done that, measuring the voltage as the key is turned to crank - I’ll do that and report back what the status of the feed wire to the fuel pump is at that point.

Have you checked the emergency fuel shut off beside the ECU and fuse box? I might be wrong here but doesn't the fuel pump run for only a few seconds after turning Ign on? Were you able to meter it immediately after turning the key? If I recall...

I can't help diagnose it but would suggest maybe having a search through Rover/MG forums as the engine is more common there.
