Mine broke at the pull handle end in the footwell. I broke off about an inch of the cable outer sheath and have been using pliers to open the bonnet for about a year now. I might eventually change the cable but right now with other jobs to do it is way down my priority list!

Looking at the image of the rear of the vehicle, is the astroturf being used to hide a problem? Looks like the right rear wheel is diffy? Definitely one to give a wide berth to unless you don't have enough trouble in your life!

A slightly better solution than helicoil is a timesert which unlike the helicoils is a solid insert rather than a wire one. I've used both types in the past and would use the timesert, even though they are more expensive, over helicoil every time if available.

Driving home from work in the p*ssing rain and surprise! Driver side windscreen wiper ceases to work. Passenger side collides and lifts clear of the screen and waggles back and forth uselessly. Anyone had this before and able to advise as to what is most likely candidate for breakage?
