Thanks elsie. Thinking about it, you could be right. I suppose if crap has got into the slave cylinder it might sticking a bit sometimes. It's not leaking though...yet. it's a good place to start, and if turns out to be something else then I haven't had to shell out much cash. Cheers.

Hi, my disco has developed a strange intermittent clutch problem today. With clutch depressed it will go into gear ok, and there are no problems changing gear and the engagement point on the pedal seems to be in the normal place, but when you slow down to stop it's as if the clutch is dragging...
