Any Ideas about this? Defender 90. recenly starts to squeak (like bad brakes but quieter) on acceleration in any gear. Stops if you ease off the gas. When coming to a stop (clutch down) a strange mettalic tinkling which gets slower as the car slows and stops when the car does. Looked around...

Sure youve fixed it by now but i had exactly the same problem. Thought the thermostat might be the trouble. Got a new one and found that there wasn't one to replace! Brilliant! Works fine now
