Draining the fuel as it will be off the road for the foreseeable future opted for the return line from the injection pump its just there is no real pressure there (aprox 1 liter a minute) was expecting it to come spraying out is this normal ?

I think it's more commonly referred to as a diesel cat,dfp or exhaust thingy.

Done mine many years ago noticed only slight gain what did make a difference was removing the dpf a lot more responsive tho think only makes a difference if it clogged up if you do remove any of these keep the parts removed just incase it's picked up on a mot.

Cheers discoray Done 100 miles since the event and runs beautifully checked a few connections nothing corroded up the wire from the 4th injector is crushed against the cylinder head were it comes out of the injector will inspect and create some space will get the code pulled if it happens again.

Didn't think it looked standard I have pulled both fuses out and nothing stopped working no sign of any spots being fitted will have to have a closer look at the weekend.

Thanks for the info can't find anything wrong so I think I'll get a new stalk/switch as they are prone to failing will keep old one as a emergency spare.

Happened half way round a sharp bend yes I did **** my pants pulled up then they came on again and was fine for the rest of the journey (unlike my pants) this is first time it's done this does this sound like the stalk beginning to fail ? Or any other common issues I should look at.

Cheers keV I had these off last year to do the hub seals I'm all tooled up.
Never seen it before but I would say the friction material separated from the back plate hence the excessive pedal travel and poor brakes while the pistons moved to take up the gap surface is rusty and the only contact...

Removed front pad as could see metal filings in the dust outside pad looked good but the inside may be due for replacement.
N/S caliper pistons all rusted up got them to move again but pulled the dust seals out for the cost will replace caliper.
O/s both pads have a strange step on the outside...

On the journey home last night wife said that twice the brake pedal went down further than normal and brakes and were poor the rest of the journey brakes were normal have checked for leaks and level at max. master cylinder failing?.
97 with abs (turned off)

I have been plagued by upper and lower bushes failing every 6-8 months but only on n/s/r fitted exactly the same as o/s/r and had no trouble with this side ever problem continued after changing shocks.
The only thing I can think of is everytime it moves off the drive the n/s/r rides on the kerb...
