Ok, I think it was the negative terminal. It wasn’t exactly loose but it could be turned on the post. This was only because the securing nut was so tight! Anyway, cleaned both terminals and it definitely made a difference. Starter turns over much quicker and no other issues.
So it looks like...

Thanks westone. Will do all this tomorrow. Barely used my multimeter. Knew it would come in handy one day.

No! They look ok but will definitely check and clean tomorrow.

Good evening all. Today I noticed a difference in everything electrical on my Landy. Definite lower noise pitch from starter, fuel pump and wipers seemed a little sluggish. Also a very slight low pitched “whine” from the engine bay from 1k-2k revs. Also, the famous 3 amigos lit up after start up...

Thank you. Will try today.

Thanks Stanley, that sounds promising. Any particular model or should they all be compatible with the Discovery 2? I could get the nt301 from my local Halfords today.

Brilliant, thanks. I should be able to try today if I can find a mate to sit in the drivers seat .

Thanks a lot. Just to to confirm, I’d be performing this test across the battery terminals and looking for a fairly healthy figure of at least around 12v both times?

Ah ok. Would you be able to give me some pointers on how to do that? And yeah, jsf 4x4 want £370 for a new unit! Can pick one up 2nd hand for about £50 but think I’ll try anything before I go down that route.

Very good as far as I’m aware. Starts very promptly every time. I don’t have any diagnostic equipment but I do have a multimeter and I’m basically going by process of elimination.
I may as well say now that In the past couple of months I’ve replaced the W/gate modulater, MAF sensor and...

Hello people,
can someone please tell me what the best way is to find out whether my throttle position sensor is 2 track or 3 track and the relevant part number. Can’t seem to find a satisfactory answer elsewhere.
The vehicle in question is a manual 53 plate Td5 Discovery. I’ve basically...

Ah, I get you. So I’m only really left with forking out for a nanocom or similar?

As the title suggests, I was wondering if anyone has used or had experiences using one of these little Bluetooth code readers? I’m looking to get a more accurate reading of coolant temperature and other things.
Before I go down the route of installing aftermarket gauges, I just thought I’d ask...

Thank you for your insight. As my vehicle has already been remapped, do you think some benefits may be lost by the subsequent fitting of exhaust and intercooler?

EGR has been removed but I’ll certainly look into a more accurate temperature gauge. The larger intercooler can only lower engine/combustion temperature if anything, right?
