Thanks for a speedy answer. I did wonder if I could just use the new smaller barrel unit with out the steering lock and connect the wire to it and fit it in the dash somewhere so as not to have to worry about fixing the replacement unit as the snail unit is new and the bigger steering lock unit...

Looks closer cheers. But looking at mine it has to have a screw that traps the inner choke cable and the a threaded bit the fixes in to the whole in the carb.
