I do know that Marty has repaired several WABCO D ECUs. A search of his past posts might even reveal what it was he did. He did mention the issue never seemed to occur on Wabco C models.
I want to disconnect the battery and gently clean all connectors on the BECM, I have a small copper wire brush and contact cleaner. The white calc residue that forms on old connectors needs to be removed me thinks?
I Key in, turn to light up dash then ABS failure and Traction failure messages, windows not set, sunroof not set...
So, the windows, sunroof etc are physically closed but the BECM is not getting that input as well!
When a fault occurs the abs ecu always logs it into its memory. It then tells the BECM that it has an active fault. The BECM then instructs the instrument cluster to turn on the ABS/TC lights and display the messages.
So if there is a fault the...
For the purpose of this diagnosis which of the settings should I try to discover the ABS-TC fault?
NORMAL
ADRE.APP
ALM.APP
APPMAM.APPAS10.APP
BECM.APP
CANDET.APP
CANINST.APP
ETC.....
No, they do sit in a copper mesh bush. The rubber just sits on top but hasn't stop the sensor bedding down.
In all this searching for the cause of the ABS-TC dash lights being constantly on I want to try and understand the systems that could lead...
The chances of have the same fault in two switches are slim to FA.
I’ve had the nanocom about a week and have been messing with it. Could I have messed up a setting to give a wrong result?
I fitted the new brake switch as per RAVE
Readings are:
Close/Close
Close/Open
Open/Open
I must be missing something here?
ABS/TC dash lights still on.
Did I fit the bulb correctly🤔
The dash lights only came on after I fitted new ABS sensors...
When I remove the switch the Nanocom reads sw 1 closed sw 2 open. When depressing the plunger I can feel it switching halfway and again fully depressed.
When I reattach the switch the reading is both closed when depressed,
the brake switch was...
Very helpful, tomorrow mornings job, by the way nanocom is running as it should, Hope for clear sky's tomorrow, metaphorically as well as weather-wise!
@MontyChambers did you do the Nanocom check (not while driving) on the two inputs ? No point in replacing the switch unless you're sure it's broke !!
The RAVE procedure had a missing bit between 7 & 8. It should be:
7. Extend switch plunger...
My evolution was working fine, then occasionally it would be able to communicate with the ECU but this was rarely,
Now it boots to Kernel, Firmware, Graphics, Nanocom Diagnostics
Kernel goes to ‘Kernel bootloader activated and switches the unit...
Check the brake switch using Nanocom. No need to drive around for this. Here's my Wabco-C but the brake switch wiring is the same. Switch-1 should be normally closed, and open when the pedal is pressed. Switch-2 closes when pressing the...
I can tick off the ABS sensors as good,
The bulb is new
I should begin looking at a wiring fault, the wiring all looks tip top though, this truck has been kept well.
