I need to do mine and not really looking forward to it as everyone who has done them says they're a pain in the ****
Do the new stats make the seats heat up quicker as well as hotter?
Is ebay the place to get the stats from?

Just drove the car for approximately 2hrs round town and up and down the lanes and the temp gauge has stopped perfectly in the middle. Nothings exploded, all pipes etc. are still in place and waters still in the system.
The expansion tank cap sounds like its releasing a small amount of...

Hi all
Just replaced the head gaskets on my 1998 4.6 and I'm a little concerned that the top hose Is a little over pressurised.
The expansion tank was receiving air from the bottom hose, but this appears to have stopped so hoping it has just been air locked. The temp gauge has never...

Sorted!!
What I did not mention was that the car has a single point lpg system fitted. I have removed the emulators which sit in place of the main wiring into the injectors and now it runs great. These must be faulty or not setup right.

Well, the excitement of that first turn of the key was met with - nothing! A few clicks of relays can be heard but nothing else when trying to start.
The battery has obviously been off for a fair while and i'm wondering...

The main pool of engine oil has no sign of water in it though. Pull the dipstick and the oil is perfect. Surely a cracked block would lead to water in the sump oil?
Cracked head??

I've now removed both heads.
The misfire fault sticks out like a sore thumb - Blown gasket between 2 and 4 cylinder.

I've now removed both heads.
The misfire fault sticks out like a sore thumb - Blown gasket between 2 and 4 cylinder.
What is a bit concerning though is that the right hand rocker cover internals were covered in oil/water emulsion. The head gaskets look fine between the oil and water...

Hi all.
I know there are many threads on many aspects of this but I would like a bit of advice on the replacement.
Mine seems to have developed a fault between no 2 and 4 cylinder and i'm going to carry out the work myself.
Generally, if anyone has any tips or advice it would be greatly...
