Is this standard for disco 1 immobiliser?

I have the 2 key fob for diaarming the alarm and central locking- which im guessing is a separate unit to the immobiliser? I found a green ecu box next to the window lift ecu behind the globe compartment (whichever ecu that is)

Is this standard for disco 1 immobiliser?

Interesting- so the original immobiliser would be redundant? (If indeed it had one)

Is this standard for disco 1 immobiliser?

There is a 3 pin plug that you have to plug in before cranking- ive not tried cranking without it, i just assumed it wouldnt work. Can anyone shed any light on whether this is a standard immobiliser related plug on the discovery 1 300tdi? (1995)- or has someone added it as a bypass feature? Any...

    Starter or immobiliser problem?

There was a click from the solenoid when you turn the key. It started up first turn just now aswell to make things more annoying. I will check continuity of all earth wires back to the battery neg terminal from engine/starter motor/chassis this weekend. Main bond is solid but needs a good clean...

    Starter or immobiliser problem?

Couldnt start my discovery 1 (1995 300tdi) when ready to leave the supermarket last night. Heres what i did: -Plug on little immobilser plug - turn key, wait for ignition coil light to go off - turn key to start and nothing. Repeat several times with same effect. I was initially thinking...

Thoughts on replacing turbo boost pin for original

And heres a picture of the cheap “trial” boost pin after less than 200 miles. A clear indentation from the fuel pin in the non hardened s/steel. The original bosch on the other hand only has mere marks, with no indentation (which i used as a guide when reinstalling. The difference was...

Thoughts on replacing turbo boost pin for original

Yeah theres a little bit of smoke if you go hard on acceleration from standing (not that i normally do but sometimes theres a lorry coming!) Other than that its pretty clean. There is a boost gauge installed On the dash already so i thought a temp gauge alongside would be pretty useful. Its...

Thoughts on replacing turbo boost pin for original

Cool thanks. Ive been doing a little reading about turning the star wheel or the mixture screw- like you say theres no sire fire way to know whats been done in the past with it so I will make sure I go steady. Is this boost mod removal the sort of thing anybody would normally do? See i dont...

Thoughts on replacing turbo boost pin for original

I have a new (to me) disco 1 300tdi. The previous owner only very recently (as in after I’d agreed to buy the vehicle but before exchanging cash) installed a stainless steel (not case hardened) turbo boost pin to the injector pump. Obviously he said it made a huge difference to the...

Disco 1 Replacing 3” lift shocks/springs for lower lift

Many thanks for the reply- ive already invested in a haynes manual to get me started and i intend to learn about the setup on my disco. Its great knowing theres a wealth of knowledge and experience on this forum. I guess i should have asked this about the shocks- would a standard set reach the...

Disco 1 Replacing 3” lift shocks/springs for lower lift

That info helps - i have the same size tyres as you then. Brake hoses have been changed for flexi braided type i guess to make up the extra gap created by the lift kit

Disco 1 Replacing 3” lift shocks/springs for lower lift

Hi Recently bought my disco 1 and am was told it is fitted with a 3” lift kit. It also has bigger tyres (cooper discoverer stt pro) on modular wheels and its looks great. Thats all fine however there is oil leaking out of one of the rear shocks so im looking at replacing those 2 as a pair (...
