This is not a priority, having just knocked half the house down, but will get to it later in the year. Any updates from someone who gets there first will be appreciated!

Thats settled then, it will come out at some point, reinforce the hardboard/formwork that has bowed or and hopefully make a lasting job of it.

This is a good idea, Mine is tight against the alpine seals but can't quite hang in there and drops out, so a little extra support will help. Worst come to the worst I'll just make a small prop centrally but that would look a little untidy.
If going as far as taking it out and trying to repair...

This is pre-facelift being a late 2001 so doesn't have the bar. In fairness the centre is ok, just around the alpine lights where its bad.

Hi
I have a 2001 defender 90 CSW. The Rear headlining is in good condition but the support structure seems to have bowed over time, making the already marginal headroom for anyone unlucky enough to be in the back even less, and looking very untidy.
The main issue is around the alpine lights...

I didn't like the power slave and green spring combo for this reason. Kept the power slave and fitted a black spring and the clutch is light and progressive.

This may have turned into a build thread.
I found a cheap heater to recondition for 30 quid, so thought I would investgate this properly.

I've used a compact powerlite item on a different vehicle, due to space constraints. 3 years later I have no complaints.

Good suggesting about Ministry of Defender. Nice to see something well considered and engineered. Think whichever path I take there will be a need for some assitance for components and final commissioning.
As for a factory fitted option, my best option would be to sell the defender and buy an...

Yes its february, but I am looking to do a custom A/C install on my TD5 defender to take the edge of the summer heat, as I will be doing some long trips this year, therefore looking for some inspiration.
I don't like the fact the factory option or kits seem to take up what little space is left...

Ah yes, luckily on mine the grey/white wire extends from the ecu to the multiplug for the instrument cluster so only need to add a pin and the gauge. The genuine gauges just seem to be pretty much obsolete so hoping someone has one spare.

Thanks, but not sure what you mean by that. Please could you elaborate?

Any genuine TD5 rev counters available, or retailers with stock?
Thanks

Any links to any threads available detailing the exact differences between the run of the mill J and L suffix R380's to suit TDI/TD5's
Stashed under the bench is a J suffix gearbox that was stripped down due to a c clip failing taking a chip off the 5th gear pinion, the box drove well with no...
