Wow!! I quite like that, if I had the money and somewhere to park it to work on, deffo won’t fit on the drive. After reading this entire thread over the last couple of hours, it’s deffo had a few quid spent on it with time and parts.
Very...
Yeah, it’s all been done in box section, to be fair the last owner did a decent job of some of the welding needed..
had to do inner , outer sills for mot not long ago, as it was a patch work job, so opted to have it all cut out and re done so...
Yeah I lifted mine from there with wooden blocks. I did a similar repair to the one you’re doing years ago. It’s quite intricate at the boot end! The actual beam isn’t too bad. You’ve got unlucky that it’s gone there.
Yeah I’m doing full...
Your door was likely scraping due to the hinge sagging mate rather than the metal work sagging. Good shout on the bar across the back - I’ve literally just done the same as what you say albeit I used a crane.
I have a D1 mate, live in Blackpool, if it’s any good to you more than welcome to come over and take measurements from mine to make reference points.
Mines had quite a bit welded up round that area too, and closes fine.
If you want any...
Remove rad top bung
Remove bung on top of stat

Refit rad bung
Keep filling header tank until you are at correct level
Refit header tank cap
Carry on filling coolant through the stat bung until...
Fitted the arms yesterday.. 3 hours give or take with a brew , what a faff or a job, drifting out the old bolts was a pain, but all back together again, no longer drives like a shopping cart! Kept the old arms , just in case I decide I want to...
You'll need to watch the pinion angle on the front prop with the new arms, while the arms help solve the caster of the front wheels, they make the pinion angle worse and more likely to produce vibration and binding.
Ultimately it depends what...
Yes, I believe it’s 2 in body lift and 2in spring and shock lift, this was all fitted when I got it, so I cannot be sure, I going off what I was told at the time last July.
I’m only green laning in it and continental travel , want something...
I now have my 3 degree arms and associated parts.
I’ve liberally sprayed the old bolts with pene in readiness so it should be easier to undo years of tightness, roll on weekend so I can fit them, hopefully this will cure it. All my fingers are...
Yep 5 yr guarantee, think last one did 3 years then halfords swapped it no quibble for the current one, which again has been on there approx 3 years.
I always write on the battery when fitted and keep the receipts, also done this at work for...
Yes, those are standard poly bushes. Im going to meet up with my mate this week and get under his and take some photos and compare angles, see what his is like at 3 degrees. May get an idea then. Something a clearly amiss
My 90, though it is a 200, see the track riod running through that black square lump under the diff? that is the factory fit track rod protector.
Though I am not sure why changing the angle of the axle would change the track rod clearance as they...
As far as I am aware @lynall they are poly bushes and standard. All of this was fitted to it when I bought it, and it’s only after driving another I realised how bad mine was on the roads, never knew any different.
I need to find a standard one that’s not been faffed with, find a bench mark. Thanks @lynall , if anyone here has one that can take a cheeky photo of, I’d appreciate it
Hello all, odd question, how do I tell if it fitted with castor correction arms be it 3 or 6 degrees or standard ? Are they stamped? Mine has a 2” body lift and 2” shock and spring lift I’m told when I got it in July.
Drove my mates with 3degree...
If you can weld and fabricate to a decent standard and have covered workshop facilities and your labour time is free then it's all doable. Inner wings, sills and floorpan and chassis repair panels plus materials will run to over £1000 I'd guess...
Good advice, not many garages want to work on older vehicles as well, they know the moment they start cutting and chasing the rust to find something to weld too, the cost is going to increase. Then you end up with a customer who’s not happy and a...

Hope this helps with the electrical gremlins, I’ve just uploaded my copy for you .
It was on mine, and it was radio out , and as much of the surrounding plastics, heater ducts etc , to get to the bulk head. It’s a faff, but worth it, I found out about this issue on this site and the solution, afternoon well spent.
