It sometimes chicks out smoke when it mis-fires think it was changed on the last service about 5 months ago could this cause these symptons then? Also Im new on here so who is Bob ?

Hi All I have a Landrover Freelander TD4 HSE automatic 2006 30,00 on the clock a couple of months ago it started hunting and almost cutting out at a standstill went in to the garage and they fitted some sort of vale that cost me £200 parts only, seemed ok then after 4 weeks started surging...
