Interior light fuse....the search for the short

Thanks Andy, I’ve taken the interior lights etc out and the foam block above the main front interior light is melted, so was hoping it was the courtesy light causing the issue, but same problem when it’s unpluggged. Will have to wait until Saturday now, but think I will remove the sun visors...

Interior light fuse....the search for the short

Had a look on Rave, circuit diagrams aren’t the easiest to understand! Might be looking at the wrong model, not sure but seems to suggest interior lighting is not on fuse 16, which it definitely is. Anyone had a similar issue and been able to solve it?

Interior light fuse....the search for the short

I was surprised as well, but managed to communicate with the ecu while the fuse was ok, a couple of days ago, fuse blew again and now can’t communicate. I thought it was a bit strange, it is a fl1 td4 ‘06 plate

Interior light fuse....the search for the short

so, it wouldn’t make a particularly exciting film title, but wondering if anyone can help me find a short in the freelander? The interior light fuse pops as soon as you swap it, which is stopping me using an obd reader to read an intermittent eml that I keep getting. So far I’ve removed:-...

    Fuel Flow Direction

Hi All, Slightly bizarre post, but does anyone have a diagram with fuel flow direction for the low pressure fuel pump filter, changed mine at the weekend along with the fuel pump, still very noisy. Put the new filter in the same way as the old one, but wondered if it would still work if it was...

    High Pressure Fuel Pump!!

All back together at last! Had a bit of a ball ache as courier had damaged the regulator connector in transit , however Specialist diesels were great and on receipt of a photo shipped a new regulator for next day delivery, great service! Also swapped hose from intake manifold to inter cooler as...

    High Pressure Fuel Pump!!

Thanks tlo, ordered one, so fingers crossed I should be able to get it all back together on Tuesday, will let everyone know once she lives again!

    High Pressure Fuel Pump!!

All back together and pump refurbed in 2 1/2 hours today, unfortunately cylinder 1 is still leaking (top cylinder as you look down) don’t know wether it’s maybe too rusty, did scrape down with a Stanley knife, never mind at least the seals weren’t expensive. Anyone got a recommendation of where...

    High Pressure Fuel Pump!!

Indeed! I thought I was being efficient by undoing everything on that side after stripping off the intake, etc! Hopefully tomorrow will go a bit more smoothly, thanks all for your help!

    High Pressure Fuel Pump!!

OMG what a fricking idiot!!!! Thanks Nodge, that time it took 15 minutes not 3 hours, lol, I owe you a beer!!

    High Pressure Fuel Pump!!

Ok, that may be my issue, put the pump retaining bolts back on then try again?

    High Pressure Fuel Pump!!

Yeah removed the nut will try again unscrewing the outer sleeve slightly! Inner part gets tight then goes loose so think thread may be knackered. Can I alternately get a breaker bar in the gap and a big hammer or will I knacker the engine?

    High Pressure Fuel Pump!!

I think the threads are shafted either on the tool or whatever it’s screwing into, giving up as a bad job today, may need to get another tool

    High Pressure Fuel Pump!!

Yeah, think it’s a **** tool of eBay, buy cheap buy twice! The inner part won’t screw in, anyhow now seems like the pump is partly free, it wiggles but I can’t get the b****rd out!

    High Pressure Fuel Pump!!

Got this sorted, used a piece of wood as a Jenny against the back of the ratchet, next issue is I can’t get the part of the tool that’s inside the first collar to bolt in, it catches just but as soon as you then try to screw the bolt in that pushes the pump in, it All pops out again, any ideas?
