Thanks guys for the water leak fix advice. Bypassed the EGR cooler and blocked the EGR output. Everything worked fine for about 5 miles. Driving really well then 90% power loss. I wasn't going to join this forum as I know little about Land Rovers and even less about my Freelander, so I doubt I will be able to contribute much but this seems like a friendly forum, and tons of informed contributors so decided to give it a go :)

Having read this forum over the last couple of months I felt confident buying a Freelander with a couple of problems, and joining a forum....which I never do, but this one seems very friendly :)
