Quick update on this one. I decided to have another fiddle today. Put the new pipe back on and disconnected the MAF sensor. All is well. Looks like the MAF sensor is no good. The split in the pipe must have been compensating somehow? I will run like that till the MAF arrives :-)

I have given the car a full service. Also taken off the inlet manifold and cleaned it all out as well as giving the MAP sensor a good dose of contact cleaner. Still the same unfortunately. I have ordered a new MAP sensor and will fit it when it arrives. Failing that i will have to find someone...

A bit of a strange one. I noticed the other day the short straight hose ( approx 100mm ) on the top front of the engine had split for about 40% of its circumference. Not a problem, so i got one off ebay. Now here is the mystery. When i put the new hose on the car looses power. It takes forever...

56 reg TD4 with 75K on the clock. Just lately we have started to get an intermittent engine light. Mostly when driving up hills on the motorway? It goes off when the engine is no longer under extra load? i have tried reading the codes and non are stored. Im presuming it is emissions related? If...

Looks like i may well have found the problem. I decided to start at the beginning and drop the wheels off and check the ABS sensors and work back from there. On the N/S front wheel the cable to the ABS sensor had come out of the clip by the hub. It was rubbing on the inside of the front wheel...

Thanks for that. Im presuming on a face lift 56 plate the ABS unit is the module on L/H side as you look in the bonnet with the brake pipes going in with a big multi plug attached? If it is im considering disconnecting the battery for a while, unplug the big plug and checking for corrosion water...

P0501 appears to be vehicle road speed signal implausible. Next question, what does the speedo determine the road speed signal from? ( thanks for the help ) :-)

Just been out for a quick look before i go back on night shift. I drove it up the road and the speedo is now working again and the parking warning light is also out. The engine warning light went out as i drove it up the road. So we are back to just the 3 amigos for the moment? Put my cheap OBD...

A little help if you dont mind. we have a 56 plate Freelander 1 TD4 with about 67K on the clock. A few days ago the 3 amigos came on. No problem i thought i will work through the normal causes when i get a chance. The wife used the car yeaterday. The speedo has stopped working, the engine fault...

I would not be changing it at those readings either. As said i intend to monitor mine on a regular basis. It will be changed when it gets obviously worse than the current readings.

Right just done the one wheel test on mine. 1.2M @ 5kg @ 45 degrees. I did the test 3 times on a cold car the average was near enough 40 seconds. Just to recap a 56 reg manual TD4 with 48K on the clock about 5 degrees C ambient temp as i presume this may make a slight difference? I intend to do...

I will try it at 1.2m and 5 kg as soon as I get a chance and post the result.
