    Fuel Pressure Reg knackered?

Great! If I can't get one locally, how long would it take to post? Am in Suffolk..... Easy job to do? Connection to fuel rail seems quite tight? EGR removed which might make things easier?

    Fuel Pressure Reg knackered?

It is the pipe at the union between the rigid section and the flexi pipe nearest the EGR.

    Fuel Pressure Reg knackered?

Couldn't work out why my back window was misting up in the dry today, and when I opened the bonnet there was a heavy mist of diesel from the return pipe to the regulator being sprayed out! Engine does not need to be running, only pump running for the mist to emerge and the tank to empty rather...

    Turbo shot??? Stuck in France!

After some initial nerves the car ran the 400km down to Spain and then sat for a week before being loaded up for the 940 mile trip back to Suffolk. Ran like clockwork on return journey! I turned it off pronto with clouds of smoke, left it for ten mins and checked with the mechanic in the garage where it has been. Apparently it is normal...

Thanks for that! At least my woes may have kept a few members entertained over the past couple of days! Never break down in rural France at the weekend......!!

    Turbo shot??? Stuck in France!

Parts on van heading to me, according to UPS tracker. Feel like Santa is coming! Also aware, though, of Murphy's Law hovering in background.......

    Turbo shot??? Stuck in France!

Will take it easy I promise! Nice gentle run at 2500rpm max. :car:

    Turbo shot??? Stuck in France!

Done some reading on this, and most suggest that letting the engine gently idle at start up for a few mins is best. Once pressure light goes out oil should have circulated, but I am in no hurry to trash £550 worth of metal!
