Disco, believe me, if I had the time, I'd do the jobs myself (I've a classic TVR that I do all my own work on), but at the moment I'm extremely busy at work 8am-9pm 5 days a week and have a garage build on the go at the weekends! The car is my daily so need it up and running asap.

Cheers Bob, ordered rad from rimmer bros (all suppliers i spoke too, couldn't tell me who makes their rads!), water pump off ebay, NOS Unipart one, 9 hole but square fan coupling, hope it fits! Giving her an oil and filter change too. Will report back in a few days to let you know if it's solved...

Series 3 Water pump fan coupling ... Square or round?

Thanks Jock, appreciate it. Rang both John Brows and the Land Rover Centre, both said it "should fit" but no defo answer. There seems to be only one fan you can get so I'm going for it. If it's wrong i'll just have to wait a while longer for the old girl to get back on the road ..... which is...

Thank you so much guys for all the help and advice. After a good nights sleep and and giving myself a good talking too, I've decided to replace both the radiator and waterpump and see how it goes. Having a look online at various suppliers, is there a decent radiator manufacture out there...

Series 3 Water pump fan coupling ... Square or round?

Hi all, can anyone give me a definite answer. Just bought a new old stock 9 hole water pump with a square fan coupling. Looking online most seem to have a round coupling. Seller assures me this is fine, different manufacturers had different couplings. Are they correct? Regards, Mark. (Series 3...

i'm going to supply parts, hence question on make of a new one, bearmach? or get re-core, just wondering what today's quality is like compared to original fit. waiting on a labour quote. How many hours do we think?

only reason I asked about a new rad, was the mechanic wants to do a power flush costing £70, not far off a new one. I'm usually of the opinion of doing things right first time and the fact that the labour will be a few quid.

thanks guys for the help. So, bearing in mind it's probably the original rad. Should i get a new one (any recommendations?) or get the old one overhauled? Not sure what the quality is on new rads?

I know John, I need to give myself a good talking too! I've already replaced plugs, points, cap, condensor, leads, coil, rotor ....... I know what you are saying, but there does come a point of either crack on or sell on .... i'm there at the moment. I tnink I need a good sleep!

blue beasty, many thanks for the speedy reply. Like I said I'm no mechanic, but what would have changed immediately after the new head and stat went on to suddenly affect the cooling?

Ok, i'm at an all time low now and i'm thinking of getting shot of the landie. As much as I love everything about it, it really is giving me so many sleepless nights, emptying my wallet, as well as severe grief from the wife. (standard landy ownership no doubt). Ok, bit of history.... wife got...

    Series 3 coolant level ... what's "normal"

Many thanks all for taking the time to reply, as a first time landy owner all help is appreciated. I must admit, I've never had such a love/hate relationship with a car ever!

    Series 3 coolant level ... what's "normal"

Hi all, haven't had any time over the weekend to look at the problem and try and find the leak. Half filled the expansion bottle up (as it was nearly empty) and topped up the rad. Going to see this week what happens. Oil filler cap still has a thin layer of white mayo on it even after I cleaned...

    Series 3 coolant level ... what's "normal"

John, I'm really hoping it is a simple leak, but can't see water leaking from anywhere. I'll check all the pipe clips at the weekend. Had top, bottom and bypass hoses changed. (Bearmach) Did you see anything on the floor as a giveaway? Hi Blackburn, yes, it's a Land Rover genuine part, has a...
