Answered my own thread :-) It is the small screws on the RHS and to release the 'clip' a small screwdriver inserted behind the switch housing just flexes it enough to allow the 'pimple' on the switch to slide out from that little hole.

Have taken off steering column cowl and undone the multi plug. I removed the two tiny screws that go into the switch which made the switch loose, but there is something still holding it. I saw this instruction on the web, but the screws I took out don't look the same as in this photo and to do...
