I have definitely experienced the word out compressor feeding leak issue on my other P38 in the past... but that had issues getting to ride height, would sag over...
The other possibility is dropping it to access height, if you do that all the time, the compressor will be working harder than it needs to to get you back to ride height.
It's likely that the compressor is shot from overwork because it's feeding a leak. The airbags have a design life of 8 years 80K miles, they develop splits that open and close where they fold under so it's possible they hold air at one height...
Just took possetion of a P38 DHSE 2001, had a 4.0ltr petrol gas converyed around the yr 2000, a much newer machine but was still a handfull even then.

It's within spec I think 750/850rpm? You can lower it with Nanocom. I run mine at 800rpm to avoid the low rev vibration.
There is a string of parameters that show on Faultmate, I think the same on Nanocom, the first box is likely to be showing...
I broke one puller on mine and bent a second. The Discovery ones have been a piece of cake but my L322 was a stubborn mule on both sides! I was ready the second time around though.
