One last point of view on what has been an interesting discussion & one close to my heart as a one-time owner of four RRC's, all V8 autos.
It's all very well valuing these cars at £10-15K for something decent rising to £30K for a really good...
So, just to close this thread with a defenitive update:
She will get new 4-2 exhaust manifolds (the old ones are gone), a Weber / Edelbrock carb, full heat shielding and sound deadening, all of that this year. Maybe even a roof top tent...
Well that went well..... everything checked and torqued to the manual, .... its absolutely horrific now, loads of failed 3rd to 4th changes, slam into 6th, sometimes wont come out of 6th.
I don't actually even want to drive it more then the...
For a week or so old gals been a bit hesitant on pulling away especially uphill. Cut a long story short narrowed it down to MAP sensor. Had a discount code for the bay so ordered a brand new one for £27. Fitted yesterday and the difference is...
Youll have to stick with the Borg warner transferecase because of the left hand drop propshafts. The LT230 is right hand drop.
If you going to take P38 axels use the P38 air suspension too, the P38 air suspension is set up for solid axels while...
Put the rrc body onto an 80's G wagon chassis and running gear with the 6cyl mercs diesel engine and gain the hydraulic diff lockers as well. That thing would crawl up the side of a house if it could 🫵😎
Unfortunately the only way I managed to get a response was to threaten legal action via the bank. I didn't like doing it but he was taking the ****. Never been back.
Nothing. She is sitting quietly, with minimum use, until I can get her to the clever guys who will make her better.
Apparently there is an injector issue. Enough to need fixing but not enough to stop her being driven 🤷♀️ At this point I know...
Lucky there, my '87 Vogue has LR developed anti-roll bars retro-fitted by one of it's two previous owners, sacrificing (allegedly) only half-an-inch of suspension travel, for those few owners that would have actually ventured off-road ;)
I had a RRC it would be better to spend the money on re-building as standard best and most reliable vehicle I have ever had appart from a bit of roll at speed round corners
I confess to not being an engineer, but don't have to look far to find a level of irony in your plan.
As I understand it you want to take the best Range Rover model the old Rover Co (latterly LandRover) ever made, renown for it's ability...
If its a L322 and you lost battery, it does weird things sometimes until you turn the steering wheel lock to lock to calibrate the steering sensor. I found this out the hard way when I lost everything to do with both ABS and suspension, including...
Just seen the other posts regarding this. The suspension and abs work together for dynamics. If you brake hard for example, the suspension puts a bit more air to the front bags to reduce dive etc. What error codes in the whole car do you have...
So, today, I looked at her. Following that, I send my technical inspector a message for a test appointment.
Then I irdered some starter spray, those SUs are great, but way too lean for the new camshaft. The resulting cold start problems require...
Other thread.
A bit of PTFE tape seems to have sorted the drain plug.
Aircon drains were dripping but dripped a lot more after I jammed a screwdriver in there. Oddly the driver's side was worse than the passenger side. I can confirm the exhaust...
