Hi all I just put a new stereo in my TD5 and noted it doesn't have a permanent live 12v to keep all the memory etc. Does anyone know if this is normally the case? Or is the original stereo connected to the ECU using a canbus to turn it on etc

Are you sure it is blue smoke and not caused by a coolant leak into the inlet? the oil change might be just coinsidence Has your coolant level dropped at all or the exhaust blowing excessive moisture?
