sadly staying inside isn't an option and huskies cost more than a Landy.
Our regular pontiac is fine at -40. fit some cardboard to the front to keep the rad a bit warmer and it heats up in no time.

I've imported a variety of vehicles to Canada from europe now but not a Landy as of yet.
Indeed they need to be 15 years old and have the original chassis number.
The car does not have to be original though. I've brought some heavly modified jap cars over and as long as its bolt on goodies...

So I'm hoping to buy a defender soon from the UK and ship it out to my new home in Canada. Winter here can be bloody freezing with temps hitting as low as -40. I will be installing an engine block and oil sump heaters wich is common practice out here. Make start up a little easier.
I suspect...

To be honest I have lots of time for Plymouth, It's a great city with tons of stuff on its doorstep. Only moved out to Canada because my wife is Canadian. I have to say that I do love Canada though, the opertunities are way beyond what the UK has to offer right now. We May move back one day.

Some great feedback there, thankyou!
I think finding a clean body is paramount so I may have to settle for the NA for the moment with the budget I want to spend. I'm a heavy equipment mechanic so an engine change should be no problem. I expect I'll be keeping my eye out for a decent 200TDI...

The policy that you can only have one vehicle under your NCB is retarded. Why you cant have multiple vehicles all at 70% is strange. I used to have to spend a fortune on insuring cars when I lived back in the UK. Bloody robbing insurance companies.
Different out here in canada, all cars...

Not a huge budget, probably about 2.5k. I have seen a few older landies(1990) come up for this kind of money with the 200TDI or Nissan turbo conversions. Not sure if that buys a reasonable example though, havent been out to look at any yet.

I'll be in the market soon for a Defender 110.
I've been looking at the autotrader for a while now and there seems to be so many diesel options or conversions.
I dont expect any to be a race horse but want somthing that can commute in daily traffic and not be too much of a slouch. I also...

Hi All
I'm originally from Plymouth, Devon where I spent most of my life but have now moved out to Canada with my Wife.
Been an Avid Landy fan since they were a childhood obsession. Finally bought one a few years back, a 1977 series 3 (or would that be a 2A?) SWB. Had tons of fun but wanted...
