did you fit a genuine pump or copy part..had similar problem on mine cause i fitted copy part and then had issues regarding the fuel gauge..a few mounths later something melted in the pump and sent a serge back to my dash controlls and killed it...so if you didnt get a genuine pump i suggest to...

when you say it cuts out and then difficult to restart..would you say it is more likely to cut out under strain,i.e going up hill,,and resarting you have to keep turning it over till she starts,,is there any smoke on start up then,,i had a similar link on here,,if your simptons are similar to...

well just to up date this..im not any closer to sorting my td5 out.iv drained tank incase i had crap in the fuel.checked filtter housing again.even pulled my injectors out again.no codes found still, and still loads of white smoke and cutting out.its naw at the point where i have had to take it...

so much so when she just starts you cant see behind..and smells rich,,fuel,,but then clear,s..and will idle ok but as soon as you start driving and put any strain on it or hit any sort of up hill she will start to splutter then i lose all power and she just cuts out ratty...thanks for your...

im not sure if its over fueling or starving of fuel but when i do finaly get it to start iv got loads of white smoke for a few seconds and naw and again getting a diesel knock.any thoughts welcome before i strip everything to do with fuel..

hi there..as you said about the air bleed valve,i took it of today and and could not blow throuh it at all so cleaned it the best i could and done as you said.my td5 has naw been able to do a 20 mile round trip with out cutting out so far but pump is still scraming every time i turn ignotion...

no my td5 has not been put on any diagnostics as no lights have shown on dash..but will be trying that tomoz.as this is doing my head in naw..well before i start throwing money at it..
