Hi All,
The previous owner of my Defender 90 fitted a Mantec Swing Away Wheel Carrier but for some reason used the half door conversion kit and it never worked properly.
Unfortunately he didn’t keep the standard door plate or the standard top bracket.
I can buy the door plate from LR parts...

Thanks for your response, just not sure there will be much left if I blast it.
I have got a few bits I am taking to the powder coasters so I might just ask if they will give it a go when they blast the rest of the stuff. See what comes out the other side. HaHaHa
Cheers

Evening all,
Just after some help with my 300tdi bonnet.
The bonnet itself is in good condition however, there is a steel strip which has been riveted to the underneath where the catch pin and bonnet dampers attach which is completely rusty and just about to rot through.
Does anyone know...

Made a bit of a potential costly mistake and ordered some brand new F&I side steps from Paddocks for my 90. I only realised when tried to fit them I have bought the Td5 ones and not the 300tdi ones.
Unfortunately, as I have had them a few months, unboxed and fitted (1side) I can’t return them...

Sorry, it’s a 300tdi.
No immediate plans to do anything with the engine yet (too much to do on the rest of it first)
The only thing it has got is a boost pin and ring.

Hi All,
My clutch is slipping in my 90 and have got a few prices for Valeo and L.O.F Road and Power spec clutches plus fitting.
Just wondering what people’s thoughts are on the 3 clutches and the best prices I have been quoted.
Valeo - £478
L.O.F ROADspec - £532
L.O.F POWERspec - £610
Thanks

Hello All,
I have done the same thing and gone and bought the TD5 steps rather than the 300tdi ones.
The problem I have is that I have fitted the passenger side steps (no problem) and have had them a while so can’t send them back.
Does anyone know if you can remove the fuel tank fit then...

Don’t think so, I have washed the oil cooler out and had a good look in the holes, given it a blast with the air gun as well.

Thanks all,
I will give it a go without but if I have any leaks I will chuck a couple of ESR1594L on.
cheers.

Are these needed?
I am just refitting my rad after some maintenance and noticed when I disconnected the oil cooler pipes there weren’t any on however, a few vids on YouTube show them being put on.
I can’t see anything in the workshop manual either.
Cheers.

Thanks all, some good points to consider.
I suppose the point in the video is that it makes very little difference. Regardless of the test location, the test was performed in the same environment with the cover on and off and the distance inaccuracy to the engine would only be minimal.
So is...

Is the general consensus that they or not needed then???

Hi all, does anyone know if you can buy or make the foam insert attached to the rubber acoustic cover that sits over the rocker cover and manifold.
Mine is soaked in oil and falling to bits the rubber part is fine thou.
You can buy the whole thing on eBay but cost a fortune.
Thanks

Cheers all, really appreciate the advice. Thanks

Yeah I might end up doing that going to cost up both options plus with jubilee clips the is a larger tightening tolerance.
Cheers
