I was thinking of using these door hinges on my Disco but didn’t bother in the end. These would have been helpful, especially as you could ‘tune’ the thickness by altering them in one dimension.

No idea, but those are big bits! You have to wonder how far the smaller bits have got. I'd take the oil filter off and cut it open to see what is in there first. It could tell you if it is worth opening up the engine further.

Thanks Kev. New NGKs are in, but didn't sort it. Nor did the Britpart new HT leads, however I'm looking forward to receiving some Magnecor reds this coming week.
It seems a little strange but I think it was the alternator pulley going 'wobbly' and allowing the serpentine belt to ping off...

I have fox dampers on the disco and they are very good as mention. Another vote for KYB as mid-price replacements, I have these on the (said quietly) landcruiser with the standard leaf springs. No complaints about them, even on Kenya’s demanding terrain.

Yep, 160A is high, but that may be marketing. Unless you have a twin batt setup and a big winch, you won’t need that much.
